Fatmir Limaj, a former Kosovo government minister and currently a member of the assembly in Pristina, ordered the killing of two Serbs, says a witness. The murders took place in a camp ran by the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) in the village of Klecka, central Kosovo. Witness says Limaj ordered killings of Serbs Protected Witness X was making his statements - reported today in the Albanian language media - to EULEX prosecutors. A war crimes trial was launched on Monday for a group of former KLA members. The witness, who was a supervisor in the KLA prison in Klecka from 1998 until 1999, told EULEX that he had personally killed two Serbs acting on the orders of the then commander of the KLA units in Klecka, Fatmir Limaj. The protected witness spoke to EULEX special prosecutor Mauricio Salustro about the events starting from the first day he had joined the KLA to the day he handed himself over to the authorities. Limaj has not been arrested and did not show up in court yesterday, as he is protested by his immunity as a member of the Kosovo assembly.
