16 police officers arrested
24 persons, including 16 police officers, have been remanded in custody for 30 days for issuing fake documents and accepting bribes.

24 persons, including 16 police officers, have been remanded in custody for 30 days for issuing fake documents and accepting bribes. Majority of the arrested officers are from Pristina Police Administration currently located in the southern Serbian town of Nis. 16 police officers arrested Pristina Police Administration police officers Lulzim Neziri, Aleksandar Stojanovic, Nikolina Simonovic, Slavisa Milanovic, Gordana Bekcic, Slavica Martinovic, Dragoslav Djukic, Dusan Petkovic, Milan Jankovic, Ranko Milacic, Sinisa Milanovic and Zoran Radivojevic were arrested on May 5. Police officers from Nis, Belgrade and Vranje, Dejan Bogosavljevic, Katarina Krcan and Valentina Petkovic and several retired police officers were also arrested. Head of the Serbian government’s commission for monitoring of the visa liberalization Nenad Banovic says that the arrests are a result of internal control’s several-month long investigation. He explained that the arrested officers had been issuing documents to Albanians based on false papers. The Kosovo Albanians than used their passports to travel to EU member states and seek asylum.
