Today marks a year since 28-year-old Frenchman Brice Taton was beaten to death in downtown Belgrade. At the Initiative of the Youth Coalition Against Violence a memorial plaque will be put up at the Obilicev Venac Street where Taton was beaten and it will be officially revealed by Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas. Anniversary of murder of French fan Dusan Zlokolica of the Youth Coalition Against Violence says that the Frenchman’s murder represents a peak of chauvinism in the history of the Serbian capital. Trial of 14 suspects accused of aggravated murder still has not been finished a year after the brutal beating. Taton was beaten by a group of Partizan fans and he died 12 days later. B92 program Insajder pointed out last year that court proceedings against hooligans were taking unusually long despite numerous complaints filed by the police. Brice Taton
