An off-duty police officer from Belgrade has reportedly shot and injured a local man in a cafe in Zajecar, eastern Serbia. The 23-year-old man, identified as Aleksandar Maric, was hit by a stray bullet. Maric is now receiving treatment in a local hospital, and his condition is stable. Local police in Zajecar said the shooting was reported but would not make any further statements. Maric, meantime, says investigators have not contacted him yet. In Belgrade, Police Director Milorad Veljovic said that police and the prosecution would investigate the case, and that he could not reveal any more details at this time.
