The Bosnian prosecution has raised an indictment against Bosnian Serb Zoran Maric, who stands accused of war crimes against civilians near Jajce in 1992. The indictment states that Maric took part in the illegal imprisonment and forced eviction of Bosniak civilians from their homes in the villages of Loljici and Cerkazovici, who were then taken away and killed near Tisovac. Maric, a former member of the Republic of Srpska Army, is accused of violating the provisions of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. He is charged with being an accomplice to murder, forced infliction of great physical and mental suffering, violations of physical integrity and theft of property, all of which come under the category of war crimes against the civilian population. The prosecution has referred the indictment to the Bosnian courts for approval.

Bosnian Serb charged with war crimes

According to the indictment, 23 Bosniak civilians died in Tisovac and five survived.
