Judge's wife killed in bomb attack

A female, thought to be the wife of local Judge Veljko Lukic, has died in a bomb blast in the town of Knjazevac. The bomb was detonated in a residential building in Branka Radicevica Street, in front of Lukic's flat. Judge's wife killed in bomb attack Municipal President Mladen Radosavljevic confirmed that the judge’s wife had perished in the blast. “A bomb exploded in front of the door of the judge’s flat, and his wife was killed. The police are doing their part of the work, waiting for other teams to come in and conduct an inquest. What we as a municipality can do is to call an emergency meeting of the municipal council and condemn the attack, and agree to form a security task force in the municipality to try and protect all our citizens,” Radosavljevic said. Zajecar police spokesman Zoran Stamenkovic told the Beta agency that the bomb had exploded at 06:35 CET today, and that one female had been immediately reported as having been badly injured in the blast, injuries that she died of shortly afterwards. Fellow judge, Dragisa Cvejic, was killed in a similar attack in the same town almost a year ago. Then Justice Minister Dusan Petrovic said at the time that a protection system for the judiciary would be fully in place within a year offering maximum security for court employees not only at their places of work, but also on the street and in their homes.
