The Office for Cooperation with the Hague says Radovan Karadzic is not entitled to financial support from the state. The war crimes suspect does not meet any of the criteria to receive financial assistance from the Serbian state, Office Director Dusan Ignjatovic told daily Danas. "Karadzic not entitled to state help" “He is not a Serbian citizen and he did not surrender voluntarily. Nor did his family consult the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal,“ said Ignjatovic. Serbian Ambassador to Holland Radoslav Stojanovic said earlier that Karadzic would be offered full legal assistance, and that he had already been offered financial help. The former Bosnian Serb leader’s lawyer Goran Petronijevic told Danas that Serbia was obliged to assist his client. Ignjatovic added that in certain extreme cases, assistance could be given even if these conditions were not met, but that is “if evidence of a threat to existence is submitted.“
