Aleksandar Vucic says he "has no doubt an increase of incomes" could be discussed with the IMF by the end of the year if positive economic trends continue.

Public sector salaries hike "could be discussed by year-end"

"Serbia's economy is stable and progressing, the public debt is down by EUR 316 million and the deficit in Q1 is down from RSD 62 billion to 9 billion," Vucic reiterated.

Having a fourth and a fifth review of the agreement with the IMF in June would be very significant for Serbia, he said.

"If we can maintain such a deficit, I am certain and have almost no doubt that we can by the end of the year discuss an increase of incomes, in particular for the education and health sectors, the military, the police and pensioners, and we will see about the rest," Vucic said, noting that he "does not want to make outrageous promises to win the election."
