Iran to make Belgrade "hub of its economy in region"

The Iranian delegation was headed by Iranian Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade and Head of Trade Promotion Organization Valiollah Afkhami, and the agreement was reached taking into consideration the fact that in the light of economy, Serbia is the most important country in the region.

At a meeting with the Iranian delegation comprising representatives of a number of state institutions and businesspeople in the fields of trade and food, textile and petrochemical industry, Ljajic and Sertic also discussed economic cooperation and ways to increase the volume of exchange of goods between the two countries.

Sertic and Ljajic, who also serves as the minister of economy, agreed with the Iranian minister to organize a day of Serbia's economy during the meeting of the Mixed committee on economic cooperation between the two countries in Teheran late this year.

It was agreed on the occasion to ink an agreement on a joint appearance in the third markets, said a statement from Ljajic's office.
