The Serbian dinar has weakened against the euro by 15 para on Thursday, exceeding the threshold of RSD 112 for one euro. The official middle exchange rate will on Thursday be RSD 112.1457 for one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced. Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank sold a total of EUR 753.5mn on the interbank foreign exchange market so as to ensure smooth running of the foreign exchange market.

This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 with the exchange rate at RSD 103.6922.

The dinar is 0.4 percent down on this time last month, and 11.2 percent down on the year.

On Wednesday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 86.7598, reflecting a drop of 0.5 percent in comparison to its previous value, the NBS announced.
