The Serbian dinar (RSD) strengthened by two paras, with the middle exchange rate set at RSD 111.6842 against the euro on the first working day of the week. On Friday, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) intervened by selling EUR 50mn. This year, the central bank has sold a total of EUR 558.5mn in the interbank foreign exchange market to alleviate the excessive daily volatility of the national currency.

Viewed against the euro, the dinar is by 0.9 percent weaker now than a month ago, and by 8.8 percent than a year ago.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was at RSD 85.3398 per the U.S. national currency on Friday, stronger by 0.1 percent than on the previous day.
