Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic has spoken with bosses at Merrill Lynch about investment in energy and infrastructure, and the possibility of a loan arrangement. Cvetkovic discussed the three themes with the bank's Vice Chairman Dick McCormack and the directors of the company’s energy and strategic research departments. Schweitzer explained that Merrill Lynch was already the U.S.'s biggest investor in Serbia in the real estate construction industry, where Balkans Real Estate worked under the brand of MPC Properties, building residential and commercial facilities. “This company invested over EUR 150mn in the construction of the Usce shopping center alone,“ he pointed out.
