The licenses were withdrawn on Thursday evening just hours after they were issued. Turkey withdraws Jat Airways' charter license All passengers will fly to Istanbul on regular flights, while onward transfer to Turkish resorts will be laid on, Mirjana Dragovic from Jat Airways told B92. She said that no explanation had been forthcoming from the Turkish authorities, adding that she would be discussing flights for the whole season with the Serbian and Turkish authorities next week. “There’s been no explanation, but my guess is that this situation came about after our aviation authorities approved flights for a number of Turkish companies from Nis, but not Belgrade. When it comes to charter flights this season, I must stress that all the necessary documentation for charter flights to destinations in Turkey was submitted to the authorities there on time, but no official reply for charters for the season has arrived yet,” Dragovic explained. Speculation is rife that the Turkish authorities' move is a tit-for-tat measure after Serbia denied permission to a number of Turkish and Egyptian charter companies to fly out of Belgrade.
