A key role in increasing economic stability in Serbia will be played by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), says Radovan Jelasic. Jelasic stressed that Serbia had taken measures to tackle the economic crisis, which it can neither avoid nor tackle alone, at an opportune time. “The worst fallout from the global crisis has been averted in the region, even in Serbia, but the next year or two will definitely be full of challenges: money will be more expensive, unemployment will grow, the transfer of foreign capital will be smaller… but Serbia has reason to trust in the macro-measures it’s taken thus far,” he said.
