Four foreign companies have purchased tender documentation for the sale of Jat Tehnika. President of the Union of Aero-Mechanics Dragan Bogdanovic told Beta that he was very pleased with the interest shown by potential buyers, but that he could not state what companies might take part in the tender. Israelis show interest in Jat Tehnika The sale of a 70 percent stake in Jat Tehnika, which maintains and repairs aircrafts, was announced on June 16, and the deadline for potential buyers to submit their applications for the tender documentation expired on Friday, August 29. According to earlier media reports, the tender documentation was purchased by two Israeli companies—El-Al and Bedek Aviation—as well as by Hungarian Malev. The name of the fourth interested party is still unknown. Jat Tehnika was separated from Jat Airways in 2005, and is owned 100 percent by the state. According to its privatization prospects, the company can service 100 aircraft per year. In 2007, it had revenue of EUR 22mn with profit of EUR 31,000. Planned revenue for this year is EUR 45mn. The company employs about 1,000 personnel and owns two hangars with a total area of 18,000 square meters, along with 300,000 additional square meters of property. Jat Tehnika’s estimated value of is between EUR 100-200mn. The deadline for bids, including a deposit of EUR 500,000, is September 26.
