Parliament Speaker Oliver Dulic, DS, will not call a session on ratification of the energy agreement with Russia. Tanjug learned from Dulic's cabinet Monday that the speaker "does not want to violate the constitution, under which the dissolved parliament may only carry out current and urgent duties, which do not include this agreement". Speaker won't call Russian energy deal session In order for the agreement to be ratified, the parliament needs first to receive the government's opinion. It was also said that Dulic "will not allow the parliament to be used as part of pre-election campaigns". The Serb Radical Party (SRS) parliamentary group Friday tabled a draft bill on ratification of the energy agreement with Russia with an initiative to urgently call a parliament session, because they believe that "Serbia urgently needs this agreement". The Radicals' move was supported by the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and New Serbia (NS).
