Serbia's protest note references fascist Croat WW2 entity

"Such and similar measures of Croatia's police organs - and in particular the physical separation of the holders of Serbia's travel documents from other passengers - have not been recorded in the civilized world," said the MFA note.

The ministry added that the discriminatory character of this measure can be compared only with those undertaken in the past, "during the era of the fascist Independent State of Croatia (NDH)."

An MFA statement also stressed that Croatia was conducting a crude violation of the basic principles of the EU, the UN, the Council of Europe, and other international organizations that it is a member of.

The Serbia government "demands an immediate end to such practices of competent Croatia organs," the protest note said.
