Albanian President Ilir Meta will be in Serbia on December 3 and 4 on "an unofficial visit" to the Medvedja municipality.

Albanian president to visit Serbia "unofficially"

Meta will be staying at the Gejzer Hotel in Sijarinska Banja, and during his visit to Medvedja, he will meet with municipal councilors and municipal officials from the ethnic Albanian community.

The agency was also told that the president of Albania will have unofficial meetings with Nebojsa Arsic, president of the municipality, and president of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja Zoran Stankovic.

The government of Serbia has been informed of the upcoming arrival of Meta to Medvedja, the report added.

According to the latest statistics, about 7,000 people live in the municipality of Medvedja, 520 of whom are members of the Albanian national minority.

Albanians who moved to Kosovo after the war return to Medvedja occasionally to visit their property and to vote in local elections, Beta said.
