Indictment for crimes against Albanians confirmed

BELGRADE Serbia's War Crimes Prosecutor's Office stated on Friday that the expanded indictment against Srecko Popovic and other persons has been confirmed. They are accused of murder of ethnic Albanian civilians in 1999. Indictment for crimes against Albanians confirmed "The expanded indictment of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office was corroborated by a ruling of the War Crimes Department of the Belgrade Higher Court against Srecko Popovic and others for war crimes against Albanian civilians in the villages of Ljubenic, Pavljan and Zahac in April and May 1999,” the statement reads. The expanded indictment charges 12 persons with murder of 73 people. According to the ruling, and on the proposal of the Prosecutor's Office, these war crimes will be a subject to a single trial, and the main hearing is scheduled for November 13 and 14. Tanjug
