BRUSSELS Freedom of movement will be respected "without discrimination," Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said in Brussels last night. After a working dinner with the EU High Representative Catherine Ashton and Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Thaci said that the meeting was "constructive." "Freedom of movement will be respected" Thaci told reporters that "the Kosovo authorities would respond to any request by Serbian officials to visit Kosovo, if the application is submitted to relevant institutions and according to the law." He said that this was the topic of discussion during the tripartite meeting with Ashton and Dacic. Last week, Pristina banned entry to Kosovo to Serbian officials during the campaign for the November 3 elections, while Dacic threatened he would "withdraw from the Brussels negotiations" should the ban stand. The aim of the joint working dinner, Beta reported, was an attempt to reach agreement on conditions for the November elections that would be acceptable to all parties and to come to a compromise regarding the visits to Kosovo of Serbian officials during the election period.
