Belgrade - NUNS welcomes the decision by the Republic Broadcasting Agency Council not to grant former TV Avala national frequency. "NUNS believes that television spectrum on a national level is too extensive and that the fifth commercial frequency should not be re-awarded. NUNS: Do not assign frequency NUNS appeals to the relevant Ministry of Telecommunications to recommend to the Government of Serbia that this be the only free national television frequency which would not be allocated but to be ceded for the digitalization process," it is said in the statement. At its meeting today, the RRA Council has not assigned the national frequency, and candidates were television Nova and TV Kopernicus, which did not get enough votes. RRA Council has announced a new competition. To obtain the frequency it was necessary for one of the competitors to receive a majority of votes of the nine members of the Council. Beta/file/ Reuters
