Party for Sandzak Chairman Fevzija Muric has launched an initiative for Novi Pazar to open an office in Brussels. That would come "along the line of Vojvodina, Nis, and Kragujevac", news agencies reported on Thursday. Party wants "Sandzak office" in Brussels "We hope that the initiative will be upheld by other political factors in Sandzak and the rest of Serbia. We see nothing wrong about it and it can only benefit us in Sandzak," Muric said. He maintains that this would bring Novi Pazar and Sandzak closer to the EU pre-accession funds and the source of information and that they would be better informed about projects that could be financed by the European Union. Muric's Party for Sandzak is a member of the governing coalition at the local level in Novi Pazar. Part of the opposition in Serbia regards the opening of offices of individuals regions in Brussels as a prelude to a disintegration of Serbia and a secession of Vojvodina and Sandzak. Sandzak is a geographical region spreading in three countries that in Serbia coincides with the Raska District.
