The Serbian government adopted a bill on Tuesday banning smoking in closed work or public places. However, the government also proposed "some exceptions", but decided to ban smoking in public transport. Government adopts bill on smoking The exceptions relate to "food and beverage catering establishments", which, if spaced up to 80 square meters, "can decide whether to allow or ban smoking in the entire establishment". Motels, hotels and hostels will also be excluded from the smoking ban.
