Kosovo health workers ended their strike after an agreement was reached to form task forces to deal with all health care problems. “A joint decision was reached for the Kosovo assembly to propose the formation of a task force made up of MPs, health experts and union officials, to propose solutions to the problems in health care,” the provincial government stated. Kosovo health workers end strike Kosovo health unions and Prime Minister Hashim Thaci reached an agreement to end the strike after several hours of talks. The government statement adds that Thaci “assumed the obligation of the government’s tangible commitment, with the goal of speeding up the process of finding solutions to the countless problems in that sector.” It was stated that improving the situation in the health sector was one of the priorities of the provincial administration. Health workers in Kosovo went on strike last Tuesday demanding the implementation of an agreement reached in October of last year, which called for the payment of EUR 44 for warm meals for all workers and a 50 percent wage increase.
