Health Minister Tomica Milosavljevic says the 857,500 swine flu vaccines delivered to Serbia had been paid in full. He also explained that further deliveries of the Novartis-produced vaccines will be canceled. Swine flu vaccine order canceled “Serbia paid 857,500 doses. Out of that amount, 160,000 were administered to citizens,” the minister told Tanjug, adding that Serbia needs to have 300,000 doses in its permanent reserves in case the epidemiological situation deteriorates. “In view of the pace of the vaccination process, the amount we have now is sufficient to continue the vaccination,” said the minister. Serbia originally ordered three million units of the vaccine. Novartis yesterday warned countries not to cancel their orders, and said priority in a future epidemic would be given to those who honor their contract obligations.
