In the repeated Macedonian voting Sunday, the ethnic Albanian Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) won in 183 out of 187 polling stations, reports say. Violence and irregularities during the elections held on June 1 forced the authorities to repeat the elections in the areas mostly populated by ethnic Albanians. Macedonia: DUI wins more votes The Macedonian Electoral Committee (DIK) announced with 97.86 percent of votes counted, the DUI had won 38,642 votes, while rival Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) received 32,133 votes. Total turnout at the elections held on June 1 and June 15 was at 57.16 percent, the DIK stated. The governing VMRO-DPMNE won 482,602 votes, while 233,362 voters cast their ballots for the Social-Democratic Union. The DUI supporters gathered in Skoplje and Tetovo last night.
