EU commissioner: Kosovo close to visa liberalization

Kosovo has made significant progress in talks with the European Commission (EC) about visa liberalization, EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom has stated. According to Pristina media, Malmstrom said on the margins of a meeting in Ohrid that the mission which had recently visited Kosovo determined that a significant progress was made in the implementation of laws on return of Kosovo citizens from West European countries. EU commissioner: Kosovo close to visa liberalization The media in Pristina claim that preliminary assessments are positive and that it can be expected that the report regarding the visa liberalization will be positive as well. Kosovo citizens are the only ones in the Western Balkans who cannot travel to the EU member states without visas. Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro were granted the visa free regime in 2009, while citizens of Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina do not EU visas since 2010.

The media in Priština claim that preliminary assessments are positive and that it can be expected that the report regarding the visa liberalization will be positive as well.
