Dačić takes over Socialist Party
The congress adopted a resolution describing Milošević's role in the 1990's wars in the former Yugoslavia as "heroic" and aimed at "defending the Serbian people".In his address, Dačić said Kosovo must be "defended by all means necessary", adding, "no one can say that there won't be another war".
The SPS was founded in 1990. The first elected leader was Slobodan Milošević, who remained at the position until his death on March 11, 2006.
