Reactions to the UN’s Kosovo talks

Albanian political analysts believe that the contours of Kosovo’s status have been determined with this meeting.

“Also counting the meeting at which a report will be given by Martti Ahtisaari, the so-called final contours of Kosovo’s status have been finalised.” analyst Baton Hadziju said.

Serbian National Council Vice President Rada Trajković, however, said that the meeting showed the international community’s intentions to move on to the solving the status question without implementing standards.

“Forcing the status talks reminds me of pushing dirt under the carpet. It will become visible once again in time, and I am afraid that it will give a new dimension to the destabilisation, not only in Kosovo, but in the entire region.” Trajković said.
