A two-day seminar on the protection and promotion of human trafficking victims' rights, begins in Belgrade today. Beta reported that the event is organized by the Council of Europe's Human Rights Directorate, the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade and the Interior Ministry (MUP). Belgrade hosts seminar on human trafficking According to the organizers, the seminar will be attended by about 100 experts, representatives of the Council of Europe, the governments of the countries taking part and the NGOs from the countries in the region, who will discuss measures to combat human trafficking, protect victims and new ways of cooperation. Discussions will revolve around the Council of Europe convention on activities in the fight against human trafficking, and measures taken at the national level in Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia. The Belgrade meeting is the 10th information seminar being organized as part of the Council of Europe's campaign against human trafficking, and will be opened by Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General Maud de Boer-Buquicchio and Interior Minister Dragan Jocic.
