Ethnic Albanian politician beaten in Macedonia

Macedonian police have confirmed that ex-Democratic Party of Albanians deputy leader Valon Bela was beaten in the village of Kondovo near Skopje.

Macedonian police have confirmed that ex-Democratic Party of Albanians deputy leader Valon Bela was beaten in the village of Kondovo near Skopje. The village is predominantly Albanian-populated. Ethnic Albanian politician beaten in Macedonia The police have stated that Bela was beaten after a car pulled over in front of his own vehicle and he had to stop. Five men got out of the car and first threatened and then physically attacked him. Bela was taken to the Emergency Room and the incident was reported to the police. According to the police, the motive for the attack is animosity between Bela and the attackers. The police are still searching for the perpetrators. Bela formed the Albanian Alliance which later merged with Menduh Thaci’s Democratic Party of Albanians but he was expelled from the party due to numerous differences. Tanjug
