EU Common Foreign and Security Policies Chief Javier Solana's spokeswoman says EULEX is working well with Serbia and cooperation is already yielding results. "We have good cooperation with Serbia. We’ve opened an office in Belgrade to have better communication and exchange of information with a view to spreading EULEX’s operativeness throughout Kosovo. Therefore, not just in one region. Those exchanges and consultations are already having positive results,“ Cristina Gallach told radio Deutsche Welle. "EULEX, Serbia combining well" She noted that there were still problems on the field, but that EULEX was clear in its position that violence was unacceptable. “What unrest there has been, was localized, so I can say that the security situation in Kosovo is good, and that EULEX is doing a good job,“ said Solana’s spokeswoman. The EU Council of Ministers yesterday voiced satisfaction with the early results achieved by the EULEX mission, particularly in terms of helping the Pristina authorities establish the rule of law and create the conditions for a secure life for all citizens, regardless of ethnicity. “The application of the EULEX mandate will play an important role in consolidating regional stability, in line with its European perspective,“ stress the declarations adopted by EU foreign ministers in Brussels. The council also welcomed the establishment of EULEX’s full operational capacity throughout the province.
