BELGRADE Jorgovanka Tabakovic says the NBS announcements that the inflation rate would be brought back to the target limits were realized in the second half of 2013. Governor of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) added on Tuesday that "the recovery of economic activities would be followed by a drop in external disbalance." NBS governor: Inflation rate within target limits The inter-annual inflation rate totaled 4.9 percent in September and was thus brought back to the limits of allowed deviation from the target rate of 4 plus or minus 1.5 percent, Tabakovic said on Tuesday at the presentation of the November report on inflation. Inflationary expectations for the economy and citizens in the next year are considerably lower, she said. Due to favorable trends in foreign exchange, the current account deficit has been more than halved relative to the previous year and foreign disbalance is dropping at a faster pace than expected, Tabakovic said.
