"Serbia runs risk of becoming victim of EU's lack of unity"

"We are faced with a situation in which the EU obviously does not have a unanimous policy and we are often at risk of becoming a victim of that disunited policy, that is of certain unilateral moves by certain countries," Dacic said, according to Beta.

"Over the past year, major changes had occurred in the structure of the migrants as now only some 10 percent were from Syria, while the others were economic migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran," he said.

According to Dacic, Serbia will have a major problem if a new wave of migrants happens and if Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria close their borders. He added that currently, there were some 8,000 migrants in Serbia.

"We do not have sufficient capacities and there are already problems, which is why we plead with international organizations, the EU and others engaged in resolving this problem to help in overcoming the migrant crisis," Dacic said.

During his meeting with Zaoralek earlier in the day, the Serbian official thanked the Czech Republic for supporting Serbia on its EU path, noting that Serbia wanted to continue the good cooperation with the country.

Zaoralek said Serbia had a crucial role in the region and that his country would support its soonest possible EU accession.

Bilateral relations between the two countries are traditionally good and friendly, with an intensive and continuous political dialogue at all levels, they noted, according to the Serbian government.

There is a common interest in further deepening and strengthening of all aspects of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sphere, he officials said.

Dacic also "expressed his satisfaction because next year marks 100 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic, that the two countries will jointly celebrate."

Dacic expressed gratitude for the active support of the Czech Republic to Serbia's European integration.

Zaoralek praised the continuation of comprehensive reforms undertaken by the government of Serbia, and reiterated the willingness of the Czech Republic to continue supporting the European integration of Serbia in the further course of the negotiation process with the EU.

The two officials "exchanged opinions regarding the continuation of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels, current issues in the region, the migrant crisis, as well as other international issues."
