WASHINGTON U.S. citizens are this Tuesday electing their president - choosing between the current head of state Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. The two candidates are almost neck-and-neck in the polls. Presidential elections under way in U.S. Obama, however, entered the election day with better chances to win as polls show that he had advantage in key states, according to the voting system in the United States. The election outcome could be known about two hours after midnight Central European Time (CET), as this is when the first results will be known from Ohio, Florida and Virginia, unless the differences between the candidates comes down to hundreds of votes. Most of the attention in the election campaign was dedicated to the economy, but Obama and Romney also discussed health care reform, as well as foreign policy issues related to the security of the U.S., such as the situation in the Middle East and the Iranian nuclear program.
