Two years after he first bared his chest for photographers during a holiday, Russian PM Vladimir Putin was back in the remote Tuva region of Siberia. According to news agency reports and a set of RIA Novosti photographs, he also once again stripped his military-style clothes down to the waist. Putin on another "shirtless vacation" In the pictures, Putin is seen "on a short vacation" in the region deep in Russia's Asian territory, socializing with the locals, riding a horse, fishing, climbing a tree, and swimming what is described as "the particulary demanding" butterfly stroke. Putin, who last year stepped down as president and is now the country's prime minister, will turn 57 in October. In its reprot, the BBC notes that "he looks in better physical shape than many Russian men 20 years his junior". "The implication, obviously, is that he knows how to look after the country too." The AP reminds that in other exploits he has copiloted a fighter jet, sailed on a nuclear-powered submarine, and last weekend descended 4,600 feet to the bottom of Lake Baikal in a mini-submarine on a four-hour mission to inspect crystals containing natural gas. "All of his exploits have been widely publicized, thanks to the government's control of the major TV stations," says the news agency.
