Opposition SNS party leader Tomislav Nikolic on Wednesday joined a humanitarian campaign to buy baby incubators, launched by the B92 Fund. However, Nikolic acted as a private citizen, considering that, as he said, political parties are "banned from performing humanitarian work". SNS leader joins B92 humanitarian campaign "This is a donation from the Nikolic family and our friends who joined in," he said. The incubator was presented to the Neonatology Center of the Pediatric Clinic in Kragujevac, central Serbia. Nikolic at the same time called on others to join the campaign: "I am urging the state not to wait for others to think about doing this - it should be a permanent campaign that is not dependent on the media. The state should publish an announcement and call on all those who have money to spare to help in buying incubators." The clinic's director, Slobodan Obradovic, thanked Nikolic and said that this health care institution was an inter-regional center for prematurely born children, describing them as "very difficult patients, who arrive in this world sometimes weighing as little as 620 grams". He also noted that one incubator cost between EUR 8,000 and 13,000, and that the B92's campaign already provided the clinic with five machines. Obradovic said ten more were necessary in order to replace the existing incubators - some of which have been in use for 32 years. Tomislav Nikolic at the clinic in Kragujevac (Tanjug) Tanjug
