Just over a year since B92 released its initial Android application, the web team has announced the availability of an updated version. Dubbed v2.0, the new B92 Android app - which in the past months proved to be the fastest growing project in the website's 16-year history - represents a significant upgrade. B92 releases new version of Android app The team listened to suggestions coming from the application's fast growing user base, with "links in the text" emerging as one of the most requested features. From now on, the app will differentiate between internal and external links, and open only the latter in the phone's browser, while links pointing to other pages on B92 will open in the application itself, allowing users to access the comments form. Users will also be able to watch YouTube videos from all devices, and Blip.tv videos from devices with Adobe Flash installed, by clicking on application buttons. Another new feature is the ability to vote existing comments up or down, while the interface was designed to be intuitive and easy to use. The new revision brings improvements to design and navigation, seeking to incorporate the website's new visual identity and provide a cleaner and easier-to-use navigation interface. Under the hood, the team has worked to make the app faster and more stable by reducing its consumption of the device's working memory. B92 Andoid application users are urged to upgrade to the new version in order to enjoy all the improvements. Any suggestions or criticism is welcome, and can be sent to android@b92.net.
