Serbia boss Radomir Atic will remain at the helm of the national squad, the Football Association of Serbia (FSS) has decided. The organization's executive board met today in Belgrade, and said Antic will remain at the position until the end of the qualifying phase for the 2012 European Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine. Antic survives FA board meeting “We provided full support to coach Antic, which means that he will remain on the bench until the end of the forthcoming qualifying phase. If the effort for entering the continental championship results in a failure, the entire football organization will be held responsible, rather than only Antic,” FSS President Tomislav Karadzic said at a news conference. "Because of the sentence that the Disciplinary Committee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) imposed on the Serbian coach, Antic will not be able to lead the national team in the first four competitive games, and so the coaching staff will have to be strengthened by co-opting between one or two members," Karadzic explained. “The decision about who will sit on the bench in these matches shall be made by coach Antic,” Karadzic said. Antic was also fined CHF 14,000 for, as FIFA said, inappropriate behavior after the match Serbia played against Australia during the World Cup in South Africa. Radomir Antic (Beta, file)
