Serbs in the Kosovo village of Jasenovik want to stay and develop the agriculture and in the area despite the poor material situation currently. There are some 45 Serb families living in the village, located in the municipality of Novo Brdo. Serbs in Kosovo community "want to stay" Most do not have jobs and live from welfare and agriculture. There are many abandoned homes covered with weeds in the village. However, there are those that do not want to leave. Srboljub Djokic, his wife and six children have decided to stay on their family property. He had to leave his apartment in Novo Brdo ten years ago "because of safety reasons", our reporter says. He moves into this abandoned home belonging to his family. Jasenovik villagers expect that Belgrade will help them develop agriculture and stockbreeding in this region in order to keep the village functioning. The large fields and pastures in the area are excellent for agriculture and stockbreeding, residents say. Before the war, Jasenovik had 75 Serb households. The villagers are only encouraged by the fact that there are still a lot of young people and children living within the community.
