The dailies today report about the presidential ballot, while some also expand on the Hollywood-Kosovo story. BLIC—"Kostunica chooses: Nikolic (39.4) or Tadic (35.4)", the newspaper sums up the results of the first round, and what is to be expected ahead of the presidential showdown two weeks from now. Press: All eyes on presidential run-off One of Serbia's veteran actors who has often been engaged in France, Miki Manojlovic, resolutely claims in an interview, "I would never play in Hollywood". BORBA—"Decision in the second round", says the front page, along with a report from yesterday's presidential ballot. As for a new law designed to boost protection of competition, the paper brings an article entitled, "Commission to write tickets". VECERNJE NOVOSTI—"They're off to the second round", writes the paper about Nikolic and Tadic, and emphasizes huge voter turnout in its report. As for citizens' everyday woes, there's good news: "Bills lower in January", about the new, lower prices of water supplied by public companies. GAZETA—"Toma wins first round", the paper reports about the election. "Sharon, Serb benefactor"- Hollywood star Sharon Stone and her support for Serbia over Kosovo has caught the attention of another Belgrade daily. GLAS JAVNOSTI—"Toma wins in the first round", the daily stresses over 1.6 million votes the deputy Radical leader managed to win Sunday. "Policemen, too, show 'weakness' when it comes to bribes", claims another front-page item, in a report about corruption and how it reflects on Serbia's finest. "Jelena among top eight", reports from Australian Open, where Serbian tennis players are going from strength to strength. DANAS—"Tadic and Nikolic in round two", informs the newspaper. A different vote, that in Georgia, also caught the editors attention: "Opposition demands new ballot". KURIR—Unlike yesterday, the tabloid has today picked up on the main news in the country, and says on the front page, "Tight second round". But then it goes back to its preferred subjects, in a piece investigating the whereabouts of the disbanded JSO, a.k.a. the Red Berets, and reveals: "Red Berets work abroad". "Come down to earth", the advice is for Ministers Vuk Jeremic and Dragan Sutanovac, who, the tabloids believes, spend too much money traveling on official business. POLITIKA—Sloppy scouting of the competition's front-page headlines could be the reason why the daily leads with an almost identical headline as that found in Kurir: "Tight in second round". "Yugoslav crisis as business springboard", investigates how some international politicians' careers benefited after they were posted in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, during the long years of wars and crises. PRESS—The tabloid sticks to solid facts in its main headline: "Nikolic 39.4%, Tadic 35.4%". Another story claims that Sharon Stone and George Clooney are not the only Hollywood heavyweights willing to throw their support behind Serbia over Kosovo: "Tom Hanks defends Kosovo too".
