Belgrade dailies today lead with reports about the weekend ballot in Kosovo. BLIC – "From snake to premier" is the headline of a story that looks into Hashim Thaci's victory in Saturday's election. Minister of Trade Predrag Bubalo gave the daily an interview under the headline, "Examine whether Delta and Salford are monopolists." Press: Kosovo elections, budget bonuses for politicians Plans to include rewards for ministries in the budget revenues and expenditure are covered in another article. On a lighter note, the newspaper looks at the forthcoming pop star Rihanna's concert in the capital with a piece entitled, "All Rihanna's loves". BORBA – "Troika still has no proposal", is about the new round of Kosovo talks this week. "Over 100 dinars", looks at the new price of cooking oil. VECERNJE NOVOSTI – "The joy and the trouble", examines Serbia's response to heavy snow that came early this year. An interview with SPC Metropolitan Amfilohije is printed under the headline, "I am only helping the Patriarch". The paper's editor-in-chief Manojlo Vukotic signs an article entitled, "Chaos in the media market." "Torture with lies" is about Labor Minister Rasim Ljajic's visit to a Pancevo institution for children with metal disabilities, in the wake of damning claims that children are neglected and mistreated. DANAS – The liberal daily leads with Kosovo elections, and says, "Hashim Thaci declares victory". "77 people died of drug overdose in Belgrade this year," mentiones that ecstasy is taking the place once held by marihuana among the capital city's drug addicts partial to what is considered "light drugs". GAZETA – "They got a EUR 2mn raise – how about you?" the daily asks its readers, after the news that the state budget will set aside extra funds for politicians. GLAS JAVNOSTI – The newspaper leads with Novi Pazar troubles under the headline, "Reconstruction causes clashes". "Unions more numerous than parties" is about the possibility to influence political decisions and thus influence protection of workers' rights. KURIR – The tabloid goes all the way back to 2001 for its lead story, that says, "Ceda's booty", accusing former DS official, now LDP leader Cedomir Jovanovic of plotting the kidnapping of Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic. "Pana in the slammer" is about the arrest of Vojislav Seselj's bodyguard, Petar Panic, a.k.a. Pana. POLITIKA – "Thaci sees himself as prime minister" is about the results of the Kosovo elections. As for the negotiations on the province's future status, the mainstream daily runs an article entitled, "Kostunica: Ischinger's proposal another name for Kosovo's independence". It quotes Russia's Troika envoy Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko under the headline, "Moscow defends Resolution 1244". PRESS – Another of the high circulation tabloids, under the headline "Withdrawal of ambassadors", claims that President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica have agreed to withdraw Serbian ambassadors from all the countries that might recognize Kosovo's unilateral independence.
