11 Serb tourists arrested in Greece

“Eleven tourists from Serbia began to throw water at each other. After Greek sailors warned them not to waste water, the group of tourists attacked them. One sailor sustained a broken wrist, while the other four were lightly injured,” the report added.

“The Serbian tourists were brought before an investigative judge Sunday, and were placed in custody for the time being,” Zoran Marković, an official with Serbia’s Embassy in Athens, told Tanjug news agency.

He said that the judge qualified the act as grievous bodily harm, adding that the suspects would be brought before a court in Corfu on Monday.

“Certain Greek citizens that took part in the fight and gave false testimonies afterwards will be processed separately,” Marković said.
