PODGORICA Montenegrin citizens are voting in a presidential election today. 5.1 percent of citizens voted until 9:00 CET. The voter turnout is approximately the same as in the parliamentary election last October when 5.6 percent of voters cast their ballots in the first two hours. Montenegrins vote in presidential election 511,405 Montenegrins are eligible to vote in the presidential election and they are choosing between two candidates – current President Filip Vujanovic and opposition candidate Miodrag Lekic. Polling stations opened at 7:00 CET on Sunday and they will close at 20:00 CET. The first unofficial results are expected soon after the polling stations close.
