A former Hague spokeswoman verbally attacked the Swedish foreign minister during the marking of the anniversary of the start of the Bosnian war. Both Florence Hartmann, a journalist formerly employed as the spokeswoman of Hague Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte, and Carl Bildt were in Sarajevo to attend ceremonies marking 20 years since the start of the 1992-95 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Swedish FM told he "doesn't deserve" to be in Sarajevo Hartmann spoke publicly, in front of the citizens of Sarajevo, to accuse Bildt of "not doing enough when he could have", and offer her opinion that the Swedish minister "does not deserve" to be there: "Why is he here today? When he could do something he was saying that Milosevic was a nice guy. And that's in the transcripts. And I'm sorry he doesn't deserve to be here today." She also accused him of "not doing enough" to prevent the suffering in Sarajevo and Bosnia during the war. Bildt, who was several feet away when she addressed him, ignored the outburst. In its report from Sarajevo, Beta news agency notes that the Swedish minister participated in the negotiations aimed at ending the war in Bosnia as EU's special envoy for the former Yugoslavia, and that he subsequently "testified on behalf of former RS President Biljana Plavsic, who was convicted of war crimes".
