Serb member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Nebojsa Radmanovic stated that Bosnia has not way of recognizing Kosovo’s independence. “There is no possibility of Bosnia-Herzegovina recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo,“ he said. “Bosnia can’t recognize Kosovo” “The Republic of Srpska (RS) and Serb representatives in the Bosnian institutions will never agree to that, and the international precedent of Kosovo has strengthened the will of Serbs to have the RS secede from Bosnia-Herzegovina,“ Radmanovic told daily Vecernje Novosti. “After the opinion of the International Court of Justice and the stance of the big powers on Kosovo, no one can challenge the right of the RS to secede from Bosnia-Herzegovina. As many as 90 percent of Serbs and Croats do not want to live in Bosnia as such. Such a stance is caused by the Bosniak desire to create a centralized country. Attacks on the RS strengthen its aspirations for independence,“ he said. Radmanovic underscored that the support of the big powers for Kosovo's independence has created numerous problems within Bosnia-Herzegovina, the region and the world. “I understand why Serbia harmonized the Kosovo resolution with the EU. The authorities in Serbia have the legal and legitimate right to determine the country's foreign policy. Kosovo is not independent from Serbia, that is how we all see it in the RS, and that is our stance in the Bosnian institutions,“ Radmanovic said. According to him, Bosnia-Herzegovina would not be able to apply for EU candidate status as long as there is an international high representative in the country.
