Police in Croatia have arrested Sinan Morina from Orahovac in Kosovo, wanted in Belgrade on war crimes charges.

Police in Croatia have arrested Sinan Morina from Orahovac in Kosovo, wanted in Belgrade on war crimes charges. Serbian Interpol issued an international arrest warrant pursuant to the Belgrade War Crimes Court Council order, the Serbian Ministry of Interior (MUP) said in a statement on Tuesday. K. Albanian arrested on war crimes warrant The District Court in Dubrovnik took Morina into custody, and the process of his extradition to Serbia has begun. The warrant against Morina was issued on December 30, 2009, in order to end the criminal proceedings against him, under suspicion that he committed a war crime against the civilian population. The Supreme Court of Serbia reversed in 2009 the sentence of the War Crimes Court Council which acquitted Morina from the charges and put the issue back on trial, but Morina escaped from Serbia in the meantime. Morina is suspected of committing crimes against the civilians of Serb nationality on the territory of Orahovac municipality, in the period of July 17-21, 1998, as a member of an armed paramilitary formation. At the beginning of the trial Morina denied all the allegations in the indictment.
