Fourteen years since the signing of the Dayton Agreement is being marked in the Republic of Srpska (RS) on Saturday. The day of the signing was made a state holiday by RS law, celebrating the formation of the entity. On November 21, 1995, it was announced that the presidents of Yugoslavia, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Croatia—Slobodan Milosevic, Alija Izetbegovic, and Franjo Tudjman—had officially ended the three and a half year conflict in Bosnia-Hercegovina. Under the agreement, the country was divided into two entities: the Bosnian Federation and the Republic of Srpska (RS). In the presence of then U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher, Milosevic, Tudjman and Izetbegovic officially signed the Accords on December 14, 1995 at the Elysee Palace in Paris.
