The Hague Tribunal has sentenced Dragomir Milosevic, a retired Republic of Srpska Army general, to 29 years in prison. The final verdict concerns crimes committed against civilians in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Ex-RS general's sentence reduced The Appeal Chamber partially adopted the defense and Gen. Milosevic’s appeal and reduced the initial sentence of 33 years in prison that was delivered in December 2007. Milosevic, 67, was cleared of charges for firing mortars at the Markale market in Sarajevo on August 28, 1995, when 38 civilians were killed because it was determined that he had been receiving a medical treatment in Belgrade at the time. He was found guilty on five counts of the indictment –terrorizing the population of Sarajevo, killings civilians and other inhuman acts during artillery and sniper attacks on civilians in Sarajevo from the positions of a corps under his command from 1994 until 1995.

The Appeal Chamber partially adopted the defense and Gen. Milošević’s appeal and reduced the initial sentence of 33 years in prison that was delivered in December 2007.

Milošević, 67, was cleared of charges for firing mortars at the Markale market in Sarajevo on August 28, 1995, when 38 civilians were killed because it was determined that he had been receiving a medical treatment in Belgrade at the time.
