Podgorica Mayor Miomir Mugosa has been accused of physically attacking a newspaper editor and his photographer who were working at the time. The first man of the Montenegrin capital allegedly teamed up with his son Miljan to assault daily Vijesti's Mihailo Jovovic and Boris Pejovic, B92 has learned from the newspaper's Editor-in-Chief Ljubisa Mitrovic. Podgorica mayor assaults reporters Pejovic was filming illegally parked vehicles in front of a café last night around midnight when the incident happened. The Mugosas attacked him, and when Jovovic approached them to intervene, he was hit in the face several times, Mitrovic revealed. Doctors said that both suffered injuries, with Jovovic undergoing surgery for a punctured eardrum. The media in Podgorica are also reporting today that "someone during the fracas held a gun to Jovovic's chest". The photographer claims that it was Miljan Mugosa who handled the weapon, and that it was "removed" after his father "insisted on it". On Wednesday, Vijesti ran a story with a photograph allegedly showing Mugosa's car parked illegally. The newspaper said that it was unclear whether the vehicle in question was official or private.
